The NISER exam is also referred to as NISER Admission 2023 (NEST). NEST is a national-level screening test, conducted for admission into the 5-year integrated program of M.Sc. This test enables candidates to take admitted to the Institutes of UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai, and NISER, Bhubaneswar. NISER exam offers admission into the five years Integrated M.Sc. program in science subjects of Biological, Mathematical, Chemical, and Physical sciences


What are the qualifications needed to get admission to the NISER?

If you talk about academic qualifications, you need to qualify for 10+2 exams and have qualified NEST/NISER exam after that, to pursue an integrated MSc. in P/C/M/B. Also, NISER, Odisha runs an integrated MSc.-Phd course after you complete your BSc. 

There are some prerequisites to be fulfilled before applying for the NISER Exam:


  • Nationality: Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

  • Qualification: Candidates must pass the twelfth class or equivalent exam from any recognized Board/University in India.

  • Mandatory Subjects: Candidates must pass the twelfth science stream with three subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics subjects) Minimum Marks: Candidates need to score a minimum of 60% marks in the 12th examination. (Also it depends on reservation or quotas)

  • Age Limit: Candidates must bear on or after August year 1999 (reserved category- 5 yrs relaxation).
